The versatility in the designing of electric scooters today means you are bound to find one you will love. There are so many styles; your scooter will become an extension of your own image, whether it be urban, retro, functional or cool. They are the most environmentally friendly personal means of transport on the market today.
Current Models
Electric scooters that are designed like motor bikes are highly sought after. Some go as fast as 35 mph with little effort, and you save a packet by not needing gasoline, services and expensive insurance. A particularly popular current day model is the eGo-2. A combination of chrome and color, headlights, blinkers and controls mean it’s a sight to be admired by all. This particular model accelerates up to 25mph. There is also a design called the Xootr which is more like an electric skateboard and doesn’t have the features, but is a lot less costly. Porsche is known for its sleek and speedy cars, but beginning next month, the company will also be known for selling hybrids. The automaker will begin selling the company’s first production hybrid, the 2011 Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid SUV, in December at 197 Porsche dealerships in the U.S.
Although this is a hybrid vehicle, don’t expect to see record-breaking fuel efficiency. Drivers can expect to achieve 21 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. The Cayenne S Hybrid has a top speed of 150 mph and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds–definitely not typical of most hybrids. Read the rest of this entry »

Ducati will be unveiling the 2012 Monster 1100 EVO at the New York International Motorcycle Show (IMS). This new model will be the new flagship for the air-cooled Monster family and sales will begin in the Summer 2011 at a price of $11,995.
The 2012 Ducati Monster 110 EVO is powered by a 100 HP Desmodue Evoluzione engine – the most powerful air cooled Ducati ever. The new 1100 EVO is offered with the new “Ducati Safety Pack”, a simple and effective combination of adjustable Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and ABS brakes designed to aid rider safety.
